Yes.

Found my black onyx last night while packing for New York. Haven't seen it in years. Instinctively slipped it into my bra this morning, right next to my heart chakra.

If there was a doubt before...

I am now officially afraid of cell phones (watch this, it's kind of hard to believe, or at the very least it's surprising... has anyone heard of this being an urban myth? I'm too lazy to check it out.)

Something I never learned on LJ...

How do I create a friend-filter, and what does that actually mean?

Fri, Jul. 11th, 2008, 07:49 pm

This is bullshit.

Fri, May. 16th, 2008, 12:20 pm

The free internet we were getting is now gone, which means I have no internet access at home...

which means I'm taking this opportunity to say goodbye to everyone until I get back from my travels on June 8th! I'll be reachable by phone until tomorrow (Saturday) at about 8pm, then
I'll have intermittent internet access.

Hope everyone is and stays well!

Suggestion time!

Hi friends! So, I've been craving good music to listen to that's not too mellow/won't play to my mood when I'm feeling down. And I can't think of anything new. So I'd like some suggestions! Email or respond here if you please. I'm up for pretty much anything, so don't worry if you're not sure that it's 'my thing'-- just tell me anyway! Thanks :)

I am officially done classes and school-related meetings for the semester.

Still have:
- One 6-page paper for Postcolonial Literatures (due Dec. 6th)
- One final exam for Children's Literature (on Dec. 11, 11:30am-1:30pm)
- One 12-page paper for Feminist Theory & Methods (due Dec. 13th)
- One (12-20)-page draft paper for Trans Theory & Culture (due Dec. 8th), and
- One 25-page final paper for Trans Theory & Culture (due Dec. 15th)

Hm, now that I have that all laid out... how's that supposed to happen again??

*BIG breath*

The heart is quiet tonight

I long for those endless days of
Us not doing a thing

But there is no answer in the dark --
There you are

Okay, seriously??

I have been sick so much recently, I'm starting to think maybe there's something off with my immune system right now. I mean, yeah, lately I've been stressed and haven't been sleeping much, haven't been eating well, etc., but it's no worse than it usually is when I'm at school. So what, then, explains the problems with my gums, tonsillitis, poison ivy, stomach problems, poison ivy, headaches, tonsillitis, and the cold I'm now getting just as this last bout of tonsillitis seems to be going away??? Also, the horrible cramps every month before I start bleeding and the vertigo I've been getting??? Why is my body revolting so seriously?!?!

I think it's time to book some appointments and hope that nothing *else* comes up to stop me from going...

On the plus side, less than one week until KINK!! We kind of finished choreographing our burlesque routines tonight, and we'll have all of one more practice before the day of the show. Weeee!! Wish us luck, and come out to support us on Nov. 3rd!

she was learning about please and huge humilities

going once, going twice
sold
to the girl who ignored all the advice
of all the people who knew her better
she just stood there
on the front porch
waiting for her will
to come and get her

she was packed
she had a suitcase
full of noble intentions
she had a map
and a straight face
hell bent on reinvention
and she was ready
for the lonely
she was in it for it only

Deer mice )
have been everywhere in my life in a big way lately. I'm talking one that lives in the walls of my room in PH and frequently comes out to stare at me mid-night, one that lives in the kitchen in PH and often (speak of the devil-here it is!) walks around on the counter and stove and stares at me, one in the walls/kitchen in Guelph, and multiple that have crossed my walking paths over the last few days (we're talking me walking on sidewalks, not through any sort of wilderness areas).

Seriously. What is it that they're trying to tell me? This trend is not going away, and becoming more and more frequent and more and more prominent.

Supposedly, "mouse scurries about paying close attention to the little things in life that we often miss. Mouse shows us that it is sometimes important to analyze a situation before we act. He also reminds us to balance mind with heart because if we lose sight of the big picture, we risk getting into trouble!" and "if you have a mouse totem this may show that while you are very careful about some areas of your life there are others that could use some better attention. It may be time to pay some attention to the details, you may not be able to see the forest for the trees in your life. Are you getting so lost in the big dreams in your life that you are forgetting other things? Are you missing what is right in front of you?"

Perhaps I am? I've been keeping these thoughts in my head now for a while, but I haven't come to any grand conclusions. Is this obvious to everyone but me? Cause if so, please do tell me; I could actually use some help on this one...

HELP! Come play with me... and some diamonds!!

Hi folks,

...okay, so not real diamonds. But a diamond-themed website!

If you're going to be in Toronto next Wednesday, August 22nd (either from 4-6pm or from 7-9pm), and could spare a couple of hours to do some website testing you would be helping me out so SO much!

Basically, the testing involves you getting to the Ryerson campus (Church/Dundas), eating free pizza and refreshments, and playing around a bit on a new website and providing some feedback.

This website will be launched in the fall and is the companion website to the documentary mini-series 'Diamond Road' - a show which follows the stories of individuals in the diamond industry (from diamond miners and cutters to diamond designers, from those who have had their land taken from them to heads of the industry who are fighting for justice and equality). This is a new and really innovative site, and will be FUN to look through! After exploring the site, you let us know what you like/what you thought worked, and what you didn't. Pretty simple, no? THIS TESTING IS CRUCIAL TO THIS PROJECT and we really need to get more people on board!

We're looking for people of all computer and internet skill levels and of all ages. Don't worry if we haven't spoken in a while, I promise I won't judge. The only requirement is that you need to be available in Toronto next Wednesday, and you need to let me know if you can make it.

**Please respond either here or by emailing naomi@kensingtontv.com ASAP if you can join us or want more info**

Please help us spread the word to anyone you think might be interested! Thanks so much!

Nomi.
